OteroCollege (formerly known as Otero Junior College) was founded in 1941 in LaJunta, Colorado, covering an area of 40 acres. It is a public community college that offers associate degrees and professional certificates in 30+ majors, with a student-teacher ratio of about 17:1. It is a certified "Hispanic Serving Institution". The campus is well-equipped with dormitories, theaters, libraries and STEM teaching centers, and cooperates with local universities to support transfer and teacher training paths.
