Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) was founded in 1972 and is located in Charlesville, Albemarle County, Virginia. It is a member of the Virginia Community College System. The campus is beautiful and covers an area of 114 acres. It has modern teaching buildings, laboratories, art performance centers and science and technology innovation centers. It provides associate degrees, certificates and continuing education (popular majors such as nursing, business, and IT). The student-teacher ratio is about 17:1, the application is relaxed, the tuition is economical, and a large number of students transfer every year. It is an excellent springboard to four-year universities such as the University of Virginia.
