Founded in 1956, Southern University at New Orleans, or SUNO, is a public, historically black university located in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana.SUNO is committed to providing higher education opportunities for African American students, and is comprised of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration and Public Management, the College of Education, the College of Social Work, and the College of Graduate Studies.
