Sul Ross State University is a public university in Alpine, Texas, United States, founded in 1917 and is part of the Texas State University System. The main campus is nestled in the Davis Mountains on 647 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, with a 93-acre main campus and a 468-acre ranch for animal science programs. SRSU offers 60 undergraduate and 22 graduate degree programs in areas such as agriculture, business, education, computer science, and natural resource management. The university has four campuses, the main campus in Alpine and branch campuses including Del Rio, Iglesias, and Uvalde, collectively known as Rio Grande College. SRSU is a Hispanic-serving institution with a diverse student body, with approximately 66.8% of the student body being Hispanic or Latino. The school focuses on small class sizes with a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio to provide a personalized learning experience. In addition, SRSU has a partnership with Midland College that allows students to complete a bachelor's or master's degree program at Midland. The school's mascot is “Lobo” and its athletic teams compete at the NCAA Division II level.
