SUNY Maritime College is located in Throggs Neck, Bronx, New York. It was founded in 1874 and is one of the oldest maritime colleges in the United States. It is affiliated with the State University of New York system. The college offers undergraduate and master's programs in engineering, maritime transportation, marine environmental science, etc. The engineering major has been accredited by ABET. Students can obtain a U.S. Coast Guard certificate through a structured officer cadet system. The college's training ship "Empire State VII" is the first ship in the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV) series.
